Chapter 9In this chapter, Nick talks of Gatsby's funeral. Tons of media swarm Gatsby's mansion, while rumors spread very quickly of Gatsby's relations with the Wilsons. Nick trys to throw a huge funeral for Gatsby, but very few attend. Tom and Daisy move away without any word, and Wolfsheim and Klipspringer also refuse to come. Before he officially leaves, Nick goes and visits Gatsby's mansion for one last time, cleaning up insulting grafitti within the house, and laying along the shore of the beach.Analysis: This chapter describes the true meaning behind some people. It offically shows how shallow Tom and Daisy are, and how everyone in the East had their lives wrapped around the idea of wealth and money. Nick clears his thoughts to search for a purer life, and wonders of what life was like when the East was first discovered, and how simplistic everything was.
